Problem
Merchants running events with tiered pricing based on when a customer books currently have no way to automate this. A customer running tournaments wants advance registrations at $30 and day-of registrations at $35. Today, the only way to do this is through manual intervention.
Current workarounds (both poor)
Manually change the event price as the date approaches — doesn't scale across many events.
Set the minimum booking period so day-of online booking is blocked, then collect the $5 difference at point of sale. This creates manual work at the counter and turns customers away if inventory (bookable spaces) is unavailable.
Requested behavior
Rules-based pricing that adjusts automatically relative to the event start time. For example:
More than X days before start → base price
Within X hours/days of start → +$Y or +Z%
Day-of bookings → surcharge
Ideally configurable per experience, with support for both fixed-amount and percentage adjustments, and multiple tiers.
Impact
Enables last-minute/urgency pricing and early-bird discounts without staff intervention and lets merchants keep day-of inventory bookable online instead of forcing walk-ins.
